Jeremiah Z. Smith has been Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of First Northern Bank since December 31, 2010. He joined the Bank in 2003 and was named Assistant Controller in 2005. In 2010, Jeremiah was promoted to the position of Senior Vice President and Corporate Controller.

Since becoming Chief Financial Officer of the Bank, Jeremiah is responsible for the Bank's financial operating results. He advises management on financial control and profitability, and is responsible for overseeing the Bank's investment portfolio. Jeremiah interprets major financial reports for senior management, directors, shareholders and government agencies, and directs the preparation of all financial reporting, such as accounting, budgeting, taxes and regulatory reports. Jeremiah chairs the Bank's Asset/Liability Management and Profit Improvement Committees.

Jeremiah received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance from California State University, Sacramento. He is a Certified Public Accountant, licensed in the state of California. In 2008, Jeremiah graduated from the Pacific Coast Banking School at the University of Washington in Seattle. He is a member of the California Society of Certified Public Accountants. Jeremiah was raised in Dixon.
